Donations made to George C. McGough Nature Park for the Birds of Prey Exhibit

Right over the Walsingham Bridge in Largo George C. McGough Nature Park awaits your visit. While walking the trails you may run into the wonderful volunteers and a beautiful bird enjoying a walk around the park. The variety of birds located at the park are all injured, rescued, and not able to be re-released out into the wild. The park is now their home where they are well cared for on location and help educate park goers about the different species and their local Florida habitat.

The park also has several amenities such as a nature trail, playground, intercoastal observation deck, playground, a pond with variety of turtles you can feed, the birds of prey program and an educational nature center.
As tourism has been slow the birds of prey exhibit indoor location has decreased GreenTown Kids decided to donate $200 to help feed the birds. So take the time and go enjoy the day outside and checkout the birds, turtle, and wildlife in the park.
George C McGough Nature Park is located at 11901 146th St. Largo, Fl 33774

Buy Farm Food - Support local farmers, get Fresh Produce, and Help local food banks - a Win-Win!

Join GreenTown Kids Monday July 27th at 2:30pm at the Clearwater location
as we donate $200 worth of produce from Buy Farm Food to the local food pantry.

GreenTown Kids is committed to supporting our local businesses and farmers. Evermore so making sure farm-fresh food makes it to our table and to those of families in need. GreenTown Kids will be at the Clearwater location in support of Buy Farm Food this Monday, July 27th at 2:30PM as we donate $200 to the local food pantry, supporting both Jim, the local farmers, and those in need.

In the wake of the Covid-19 Pandemic with so many people out of work, GreenTown Kids wanted a way to help out.  We came across a hero, Jim Bardwell, who founded Buy Farm Food in the Spring of 2020 when he had lost his local job due to the pandemic. Jim graciously saw a way to help those in need and support our local farming community.

The Buy Farm Food process is made easy, simply go online to Buy Farm Food, select the type of box you want and/or wish to donate to the local food pantry, (this must be done 2 days in advance), decide your location pick up or donation site, and lastly, on the scheduled day and time drive to the pickup location and the box will be loaded in your trunk for a contactless pickup.

Jim has created 2 boxes to choose from – for $25 you will receive or donate a family/sharing size and for $15 you will get a Singles/Couples size box of assorted fruits and vegetables.

Locations and pick up times:

  • Mondays between 3 PM AND 6 PM – HIGH POINT NEIGHBORHOOD FAMILY CENTER 5812 150th Ave N Clearwater, FL 33760
  • Tuesdays between 3 PM AND 6 PM – FEAST FOOD PANTRY 2255 Nebraska Ave Palm Harbor, FL 34683
  • Wednesday between 3 PM AND 6PM – PALM LAKE CHRISTIAN CHURCH  5401 22nd Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33710

Depending on the foods that are in season and readily available from the local farmers, the foods may vary weekly.

The Donated boxes go directly to the food banks in those areas each week.

Buy Farm Food is spread by word of mouth so please, share and follow Buy Farm Food on their Website, Facebook and Twitter.

Thank you to everyone that has helped out and participated to keep Buy Farm Food going strong! We’d love to see you at the Clearwater location this Monday.
